MEET YOUR COUNSELLOR

Hi, I'm Harsha.
I'm glad you're here.

I'm Harsha Somani, a Counselling Psychologist. I specialise in supporting people navigating stress, anxiety, relationship struggles and life transitions.

My approach combines practical, skills-based work informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a deeper look at underlying patterns — to understand not just what you're struggling with, but why it may keep showing up. Our work is grounded in evidence and adapted to who you are and what you need.

I believe the most important part of therapy is feeling safe, respected and genuinely heard. That's the foundation I aim to build, every time. Whether you're navigating the pressure between what you want and what's expected of you, or trying therapy for the first time, you don't need to have it all figured out before you begin. I'm here for that.

A THOUGHT CLOSE TO MY HEART

ALWAYS KNOW THAT

Questions are welcome.

Getting started

What happens in the first session?

Our first session is a chance to get to know each other. We'll explore what's been happening, what you're hoping to gain from counselling, and any questions you have about my approach. You don't need to arrive with a clearly defined concern or know where to begin. We can figure that out together.

How do I know if a therapist is right for me?

It's okay to ask about a therapist's experience with your concerns and how they work. Feeling comfortable, respected and understood matters, alongside qualifications and experience. If you'd like to explore whether we're a good fit, you're welcome to get in touch about a brief introductory call before booking a full session.

Is online counselling as effective as in-person counselling?

For many common concerns, research suggests that online psychological therapies can be comparably effective to in-person work. The best format depends on your needs, preferences, privacy and circumstances. We can discuss which option might suit you.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes. Online sessions are available across India, and in-person sessions are offered in Vadodara, Gujarat, subject to availability.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. As a Counselling Psychologist, I do not prescribe medication. If medication assessment may be helpful alongside counselling, I can suggest consulting a psychiatrist. Where appropriate, counselling may continue alongside psychiatric care.

Sessions, fees & payments

How long is a session?

Each session lasts 60 minutes.

What are the fees?

Sessions cost ₹990 each. A limited number of sliding-scale slots may be available, particularly for students or anyone for whom cost is a barrier. Please reach out to ask about availability.

How can I pay?

Payments can be made by UPI or bank transfer. Cash is also accepted for in-person sessions in Vadodara. Payment details will be shared privately.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens, and I get that. Please try to let me know at least 24 hours before your scheduled session if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations without sufficient notice may be charged the full session fee. Any applicable fee will be clarified when scheduling.

Privacy & safety

Is what I share confidential?

Confidentiality is fundamental to counselling. I do not ordinarily share information from our sessions without your consent. There are limits, including certain serious safety risks and disclosures required by law. We'll discuss these limits during informed consent, and if a situation arises, I'll explain what happens wherever possible and appropriate.

Can I contact you in an emergency?

WhatsApp and email are for scheduling and general enquiries, not crisis support. I may not be able to respond immediately. If you or someone else is in immediate danger in India, call 112 or visit the nearest emergency department.

REACH OUT

Whenever you're ready, let's connect.

Maybe it’s lying awake at 2 a.m., replaying a conversation from six hours ago and wondering whether you said something wrong. Maybe your thoughts keep jumping to the worst-case scenario, even when you wish they wouldn’t. Or maybe you love your partner, yet important conversations somehow end in arguments, silence, or resentment that lingers for days. These experiences can be difficult to make sense of on your own. Counselling offers a space to slow down, feel heard, and explore the patterns beneath them — without needing to have everything figured out first.
